Covid19 has touched every single person on the planet in one way, shape or form. Society has changed as we know it, but is there a beginning of a shift back to normality? This could be the case for the commercial property market.

Since March 2020 we have seen a sharp rise in the number of people working from home and in turn a huge increase in the number of small independent high street businesses closing down, to the point where in some local areas, there are were more empty shop units than not!

It’s fair to say that the pandemic has not been kind to the commercial property industry!

However, at Benjamin Stevens we are seeing a big shift and growth in commercial property again which has been so badly hit over the last year and a half.

Rentals that had been let go are now being signed up again. Enquiries on units for sale have also risen sharply in the last few months.

Also, we have noticed a shift in the rise new businesses. There are people contacting us who have spent their time in lockdown developing other interests and ideas which have quickly turned into viable businesses. These same people are seeing that growing businesses can’t be run from home and are now looking for commercial units to run their new successes from.
